Pakvilai Areewatananon joined Khon Kaen Sugar Industry PCL in November 2019 as an Assistant Vice President of Business Development, responsible for the company’s Sugar Business for export portion as well as Sugar Hedging. Before Khon Kaen Sugar, she spent 8 years with Mitr Phol Sugar Co., Ltd where she was mainly responsible for Sugar Hedging and Risk Management as Vice President Futures Trading & Risk Management. Prior to that, Pakvilai spent one year as a Sugar Trader at the EDF Man Sugar in Bangkok Office.

Her other experiences included working in other commodities such as Coffee, Rice, Rubber and Canned Goods. She has worked as an agent for Thai and Laos Coffees for Hamburg Coffee Company where she spent 3 years there, specializing in Thai and Laos Robusta Coffee Market.

Pakvilai has her Bachelor’s degree in Law from Thammasat University and a Master’s degree in International Business from Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City, NJ.

Dr.Mandava Prabhakar Rao is Chairman of NSL Group and NSL Sugars Ltd, Hyderabad, India (NSL), took over its reigns in 1982 has nurtured and developed NSL Group of companies, a conglomerate of businesses in Seeds, Textiles, Sugars, Infrastructure and Renewable power. San Thein is Myanmar national and citizen. He obtained M.S. degree from the University of Florida, USA in 1980 and since then he conducted sugarcane research. Earlier research was carried out on the agronomic aspects of sugarcane production problems and later of his research has dealt with political economy issues of sugar industry in Myanmar. He is one of founders of Myanmar Sugar & Cane Related Products Association (MSCA) and he is still serving there as Vice-Chairperson. He is also one of three-members team in formulating and designing Myanmar Agricultural Development Strategy (ADS) and conducting assessment for agro-based industrial development issues in Myanmar. Mr.Rangsit Hiangrat has been appointed as Director-General of Thai Sugar Millers Corporation Limited (TSMC) since April 2013. TSMC represents 3 Thai Sugar Millers Associations of which all 54 mills in Thailand are members.

Before this, Mr. Rangsit was Director of the Cane and Sugar Industry Policy Bureau, Office of the Cane and Sugar Board (OCSB), Ministry of Industry of Thailand from 2006 to 2013. During his work at OCSB, he was involved in policy and strategic plan on Thai sugar development.

Sébastien Schellen is Vice-President - Decarbonization and Sustainability at De Smet Engineers & Contractors, an engineering firm and general contractor, dedicated to the agro industry.

Immediately after his Master in Mechanical Engineering at UCLouvain (Belgium) he joined De Smet Engineers & Contractors in 2010. Starting as a Process Engineer, he developed a fully-integrated heat - mass - color balance for sugar and ethanol processes (cane - beets - sugar refineries). In the following years, he has concentrated his time as a Project Manager for various projects: revamping of a beets sugar factory in Romania, construction of a Soluble Mono Ammonium Phosphate (MAP) production plant (Morocco) and lately, construction of a new process unit and energy improvement of an inulin factory in Chile.

He is always keen on providing to his clients solutions that improve the energy efficiency, reduce the carbon footprint, optimize the process and tend to the industrial performance.

Since September 2021 he follows on behalf of De Smet Engineers & Contractors projects linked to energy efficiency, decarbonization, CO2 valorization, renewable energies and alternative fuels.

Speaker Bio: Ansgar Diekmann
Ansgar is a clean energy industry veteran, engaged in manufacturing and installation of renewable power plants since almost 25 years. In 2005ff he was engaged in the first phase of carbon certificate trading from East Asia and since several years developed W2X-projects (waste-to-electricity, waste-to-heat, etc.) in South East Asia.

Since he spent the majority of his professional life abroad, he understands that product value is a customer-centric and cost-effective solution with a short return on invest and is now raising funding to implement large carbon removal projects.

Ansgar has a M.Sc. from RWTH Aachen University of Technology and a MBA from the Sejong-Syracuse Executive Program in Seoul and enjoys seaside in summer and mountains in winter.

Holding a Master degree in process engineering and plant construction, Stefan is already working over ten years for Lenzing Filtration, a specialized solid-liquid-filtration department, which is a part of Lenzing Group.

In 2010, he started as a start-up and commission engineer for high-quality filter systems. Afterwards he moved to sales and business development management in order to convince industries like sugar, automotive or the chemical industry of the performance of Lenzing filters and to establish these technologies in new regions worldwide.

In his current role as head of Lenzing Filtration, he signs responsible for a team of dedicated filtration experts to further expand the grow strategy.
